Lava fiber is naturally acid, chemical, brake fluid, and chemical-resistant. Additionally, the fiber is 25 percent stronger than fiberglass and is abrasion-resistant.The special braid of these tube heat shield sleeves allows them to have an expandable inside diameter up to 15 percent. To expand the inside diameter, shorten the length or bunch up the Lava hot rod sleeve to allow it to slide on over fittings and terminals. Once over, expand or stretch the length to tighten the sleeve onto the line or hose. To cut, use a sharp knife or pair of scissors.
